My dog will not eat after surgery?
What can I do to make her eat? she had surgery yesterday (0ct. 6) about 3-5 hours .. the we took that day at 6 pm … the next day it is today (oct.7) did not eat .. she only drank water … helped drank water through a drip …. call the vet and said they looked for the day and if she still would not eat tomorrow, then we need to bring your in .. i want some advice on how I make dinner tonight … pls. immediate response .. btw thanks had surgery on his leg .. because he broke his right front leg … is also a Yorkie 6 lbs
It's normal to be outside their normal feeding schedule for a day or two. If she does not eat in the morning, then bring to pass, but while she is drinking enough water, I would not worry. You did not say what type of surgery, but you could try to soften the food, or give him canned food. All what they perceive as different and a treatment that will be most suitable for eating. Do not try to force feed her, the vet will tell you when and wherever necessary.
